Humanity + Engineered Avian Flu = billions of deaths

 A new Engineered Avian Flu that could possibly kill half of the worlds population? That is brilliant why did it take you so long to come up with that idea?

Ron Fouchier a virologist from the Netherlands just created a virus so strong that it could kill half of the worlds population. This started when Fouchier wanted to see if he could make avian flu even more virulent, after testing it on ferrets he noticed that this virus could adapt and spread even faster(oh golly that is great!). You would think to yourself “what is so wrong with this, they are just ferrets right? I cant get sick, I am not a ferret” well that is where you are wrong, research has shown that influenza can pass from ferrets to humans. But I think I'm forgetting something about this virus but I cant remember what. Oh! now I remember, it was that this virus has gone airborne, meaning that you don’t need to touch someone that is infected to get it, oh no sir, just being in the same room as someone that is infected is enough to get yourself infected. 

We all remember avian flu, it was something that surfaced some years ago, it did not kill many people, about 300 since 2003(not much compared to what this could do) and had the potential to kill many more, but the reason for its inefficiency was that it was not airborne. So yeah, as of now there is a virus that could kill us all.

But why? Just why? WHY!? Why would anyone in their right mind ever want to engineer a flu so strong that it could just wipe off half of the worlds population? Well the answer is very simple and it is because Ron Fouchier wanted to prove a point, he wanted people to know that someone could possibly create a virus so strong that it could kill billions of people, and as that old saying says “if you want a virus that could potentially kill half of the worlds population done right, you have to do it yourself”

Right now there is a big discussion about whether he (Fouchier) should publish his findings or not, because if the way in which he did it gets to the wrong hands something really bad could happen. I personally think that he should not publish them, he should just keep everything to himself and just get rid of the virus (in a safe way) I say this because I am not only scared of this because of what it is but think about it for a second, why does this have to happen so close to 2012? Is it the end of everything or just a coincidence?
